Another day, another necklace and a nuno-felted skirt to go with it - or maybe the other way around

I experimented with mixing some beautiful colors of merino wool once.

Turquoise, emerald green and lagoon ...
I loved the effect so much, that I nuno- felted some recycled silk using the same blend of colors.
I especially treasure the idea of using recycled silk in felting. Silk is precious and it's such a waste, if beautiful clothes you don't wear any more just lays useless, stuffing your closet.
This time, I  reached for my two silk blouses, used 4 pieces: two sleeves and two backs, nuno-felted them, added a "belt" and all that became one skirt.

There wasn't even any need to cut them in any way. Somehow the pieces - like pieces of a puzzle - were ready just to be sewn alltogether on my sewing machine and ... here we go.

The skirt is really soft because of the silk underneath and because it's made of delicate merino wool and silk.

I used lots of silk fibers on top of merino wool. They come in different tones of turquoise, emerald green, white and lilly-white and they make a very delicate, hardly visible pattern on the skirt.

I,ve got a skirt and a matching necklace ... maybe my next project will be a bag, that goes with all this. Or maybe something totally different.
