dodatkowo wyszyłam koralikami w kolorach: szmaragdowej zieleni i opalizującej czerni.

broszka - czyli filcowany na mokro mak w czerni

Jaka pogoda, taka kolorystyka ...

Mak w czerni z dodatkiem popielatej szarości.

z kwiatem albo bez

Ja noszę ją bez broszki, którą ewentualnie sobie przypinam, albo wiążę jako rodzaj naszyjnika na filcowym paseczku.

Torebeczka rzeczywiście mała - 20 cm szerokości - w sam raz na drobiazgi: klucze, komórkę, okulary słoneczne, małą portmonetkę ...
Wszyta w bigle - srebrne, rustykalne, grawerowane, z łańcuszkiem.

red poppies - brooches wet felted, handmade

and even more poppies ...

and more brooches ...

handmade of very fine merino wool in a beautiful, rich shade with just a touch of silk and tiny beads in the middle of the flower

wet felted only, using warm water, natural soap and ... my hands

I like using simple paper bags for my craftworks. They don't overpower what's hidden inside. With a matching little ribbon, they look their part.

pretty in pink - wet felted, handmade flowers and more

little girls always look pretty in pink

I dedicate this pink post to all pretty little girls,
especially those in fever and sickness on the beginning of this new year - hopefully recovering by now.
May these pink beautiful flowers make you feel a bit better.

You need to decide for yourself - is it a belt, a neclace or a flower wreath for your head ...
Might be all of above.

Wet felted with the delicate merino wool in the pastel pink shade with some pistachio green for the leaves - every flower differently shaped, with petals fragile like natural, decorated with silk and pearls - with a rope long enough to be around somebody's waste or wrapped around your neck - in many possible ways - or around  your head - it's up to you.

Head bands - I like to make them as gifts for little girls, because every girl looks pretty in pink and most of them like to wear that color, too.

Any shape of a flower, pearls, colorful beads or just wool balls look good.

Today I was given a very special picture
painted by a very little girl

"cough" - that's what she has painted.

When you get something like that you already know, that everything is going to be allright.
Now she's sleeping safe and sound at my side.
A stone off my chest.

hand felted brooches for Christmas - why not? - handmade wet felted flowers

I was home for Christmas,
however, sitting now next to my very own Christmas tree in my very own house, feels like home to me.

Here are some flowers Santa Clause of mine has brouhgt this year:
poppies in all tones of red

like colors of rainbow ... a flower in grayish blue for someone who doesn't necessarily like red ... bluish for someone who seemed to prefer wearing blue - this Christmas, however, proved my theory wrong ... black with just a touch of gray for someone I don't know that much yet ... black with bright orange for someone wearing brave color combinations and looking good in them ... coffee brown for someone in the coffee business and wearing shades of brown most of the time ... grey ...

... grey is for me

All flowers are made of merino wool with just a bit of silk, bamboo or linen for the extra shine, all of them finished with beads in different colors and shape. Merino wool is very fine and petals made of it are thin and fragile like real flowers. I form them in different ways before drying, usually using wine glasses to hold the wanted shape.

Hopefully the new owners will really enjoy wearing these hand felted wool flowers, just as I do ... with a dress, a coat or a shawl ...

hand felted merino wool shawl in white

What goes around, comes around ...

I really believe that saying is so true.
Here is a beautiful white shawl for someone special who's helping me with something very important to me without expecting anything in return. So it is my way of saying thank you to someone wearing white. And I must admitt, felting gives me a great opportunity to thank people in a very special and original way. And it makes me feel good.

It's made of white merino wool and silk with a single pearl in the middle of the flower.

It can be worn in many different ways - as I tried to suggest it on my pictures - and even more, with or without the flower brooch.

Hopefully it'll make the lady in white feel warm, cozy and really comfortable with the winter ahead of us.

friendship braceletes

We need to treasure our friendships and celebrate time we spend together.

It all started years ago, with our oldest in one class, we spent time before each Christmas making decorations for the school Christmas fair. Even though our children left school, we still meet to prepare something new for our own Christmas trees.

I made these braceletes to simply say "thank you for being there". I tried to express the charakter of each one of us by choosing the right color of delicate merino wool and shades of silk and linen for the peacock's eye.

However, while rolling these bracelets, I came up with two other projects for bracelets. I'm going to try them out pretty soon, because there are only seven chocolates in my Christmas calender, and so many people to give presents to.

Another day, another necklace and a nuno-felted skirt to go with it - or maybe the other way around

I experimented with mixing some beautiful colors of merino wool once.

Turquoise, emerald green and lagoon ...
I loved the effect so much, that I nuno- felted some recycled silk using the same blend of colors.
I especially treasure the idea of using recycled silk in felting. Silk is precious and it's such a waste, if beautiful clothes you don't wear any more just lays useless, stuffing your closet.
This time, I  reached for my two silk blouses, used 4 pieces: two sleeves and two backs, nuno-felted them, added a "belt" and all that became one skirt.

There wasn't even any need to cut them in any way. Somehow the pieces - like pieces of a puzzle - were ready just to be sewn alltogether on my sewing machine and ... here we go.

The skirt is really soft because of the silk underneath and because it's made of delicate merino wool and silk.

I used lots of silk fibers on top of merino wool. They come in different tones of turquoise, emerald green, white and lilly-white and they make a very delicate, hardly visible pattern on the skirt.

I,ve got a skirt and a matching necklace ... maybe my next project will be a bag, that goes with all this. Or maybe something totally different.

Hand felted peacock necklace

This time, my inspiration for new felting experiments were peacocks in my town, presenting their tails so proudly, so often.

A necklace in vivid colors reminds me of eyes of a peacock's tail.
I felted a rope from merino wool. Not just any rope. It was quite a challenge to arrange all layers in different shades to achieve this effect. And I love the combination of sky blue, turquoise, sapphire, navy blue and ivory. As you can see, I cutted the felted rope in slices and with a waxed cotton string, I made a triple raw jewelery piece. Merino wool is really soft next to the skin and wearing it even on your neck doesn't cause any allergies or skin irrigation.

I'm proud of the result, proud as a peacock.

And another go at sliced rope necklaces: inspired by poppies, red and black.

It's just an idea for a present. Start felting, necklaces, braceletes, earings or brooches...
there are only 21 more chocolates in your Christmas calender.

Something new, something blue ... blue as forget-me-nots, hand felted necklace

Forget-me-nots ...
tiny, blue, wild ...
always catch my eye, wherever they grow.

Last summer they inspired me to felt.
To tell you the truth, I prefelted these flowers and ment to use them as a part of another project.
But they looked so romantic and the weather was lovely at that time,
I just couldn't resist.
.

So, I finished felting them and made them to be this beautiful jewelery piece.
As soft, as merino wool can be, as fragile as tiny forget-me-nots are.

Indian summer or golden autumn hand felted bag

There is the Indian summer in America, we have the golden Polish autumn instead.

Let me introduce my last bag in autumn shades.

This time I didn't try to paint any patterns or pictures, I played with colors, texture and form.
It was an unbelievable pleasure just experimenting with merino wool, mixing it's different shades to achieve that effect, probably not cought well enough by the camera.

The bag is wet felted and seamless, made of delicate merino wool with ivory cotton lining inside. I used bigles and a funny feltball to close it. A rope in matching colors can be tided up differently to get the needed lenght.

It looks as if the autumn itself painted the bag with its beautiful  tones;
silk, linen and bamboo treads glimmering all over.

But it isn't necessaryly a bag for the fall season only. It matches different things in the closet, looks great with winter braun leather boots or the green jacket for spring.
Not using patterns gave different options after all.

Rowan-berries, autumn and another handfelted bag

Rowan-berries,
brightly orange, glowing in almost every garden or park...

I had to look them up in my English dictionary,  these rowan-berries, I mean.
Come to think of it, I don't even know if rowan trees grow in any other parks and gardens but here in Poland. I hope they are because they're so special. You don't even notice them until the vivid red or orange berries start to glow.
Every Polish child made at least once a necklace of rowan beads. Just recently my son has made one for me as well. It's quite a sentimental plant, often used in poems or songs ...

Coming from this autumn inspiration again, here is a bag with a rowan-berries brooch.

It's wet felted, seamless, made on a smaller resist than the one with maple leaves, because I like variety in sizes and forms. Also I used a Polish wool as a base. Leaves however are made of homemade merino prefelt, colored by me in autumn shades again. This time rowan, maple, oak and lime tree leaves are on the front and the back side of the bag.
Orange beads you can see around the cotton lining and on the bag are imitating rowan-berries.

The lining is sewn in by hand because I don't like to ruin the wool painting on the bag. It has two pockets and a magnetic lock.

Because of the variety of leaves I painted, this bag could be worn not only with the rowan-brooch but also with the other one with maple leaves or the one I made for someone special - oak laves with acorns.

Or they all can be used separetely.

I like the whole concept of "two in one",
a bag with a brooch - in this case.
I think it encourages to use your imagination or go with the mood on any given day.
In other words: you have more options.
