wet felted pillows - a wool painted picture of a butterfly ... on your sofa

A beautiful butterfly inspired me to felt another wool painted picture. 

I chose fine merino wool in very rich colors: shades of  yellow and orange for the flower and turquoise and sapphire for the butterfly. For the shining effect I added some silk on the wings.

The picture was wet felted - to make it really strong, I nuno felted wool on a piece of cotton. 

After that I machine stiched the picture to expose the lines of the flowers and the shape of the butterfly. It gave some extra texture to the picture.

For the back of the pillow I used two layers of cotton in natural ivory color and I closed it with 3 little buttons.

The pillow is very soft but durable because of the long process of nuno felting.
