...have always been loved by artists of all kinds. Although I'm not considering myself to be one - I've taken this risk as well.
So I painted sunflowers with fine merino wool. For the base of my wool picture I used merino in shades of blue adding wild silk in its natural tones - which is ivory. The wool was placed on a piece of raw cotton - I nunofelted it together to make it strong and resistant.
I used many different shades of yellow and orange merino wool to lay out the flowers and shades of green for the leaves. Making pictorial felt you have to lay every little piece of wool with precision and to start the process of felting really slowly and carefully checking on the picture all the time.
Sunflowers turned out to be perfect.
Absolutely no need to use felting needle or any other method to correct anything.
Sunflowers are perfect in nature. They are not as fragile as poppies or forget-me-nots. On the contrary, they're strong and proud. Doesn't matter if they grow in a sunflower field or by the fence, they always are romantic and wild. And not commertial.
Because of the merino wool this pillow is very soft and comfortable.
The long process of felting makes it durable and strong.
My pillow is made of two parts - the front of wool and cotton nunofelted - and the back of two layers of raw cotton in ivory, closed with 3 buttons and little loops. Of course I used my sewing machine to put them together.
It is like a painting, only you put it on your sofa instead of your wall.
I'm writing my blog in Polish and in English using most of the time two different posts for each topic. I never translate the Polish posts in English. I describe the photos I choose for the post - and they might be different in both versions. Even though my English is far from being perfect, I'd rather not have you use automatic computer translations to read my blog because it changes my thoughts. And I've noticed lately that some computers have that automatic function on all the time.
