red & black, a wet and dry felted bag inspired by "watercolor", handmade

... red poppies back again...

While some of my new projects are still drying and waiting for linings and belts and maybe some dry felting as well, I managed to finish this little bag in red and black - another "watercolor" inspiration.

The bag is seamless, not too big - only 25x30 cm.
I wet felted it using bright red and a bit darker  ruby-red merino wool for the flowers ...

...then I decided to use a dry felting needle and some black silk to expose the poppies ...

... I added some leaves and tiny black beads in the middle of every petal ...

... and hopefully, you're able to see on my photos that all flowers are kind of 3D.

I used natural black silk for the lining, which is extra soft and makes you want to reach inside the bag as often as possible - just for the pleasure of touching silk. As usually, the lining is sewn in by hand, in order not to be visible on the outside of the bag. It closes with a magnetic lock.
The belt is ruby-red, made of eco-leather, 120 cm long and ready to be worn over your shoulder. But only by changing the way the belt is attached to the bag -  it might be worn on your shoulder or in hand.
I really like  ideas that give more possibilities and choices of using things.

Below you can see a wool picture I made a while ago on another black and red, "watercolored" bag - wet felted at first, dry felted, beaded and embroired by hand for the final result.
