All of you, reading my blog in English - from the USA, Germany, Ukraine, France, England and from all over the world - I owe you a few posts that I didn't have a chance to put on my blog before the summer.
I present my pillows,
all with flowers but each made in different technique,
each unique.
This rosiepink pillow,
I nunofelted on a piece of raw cotton fabric. I used some prefelted wool in green for leaves and all different shades of pink merino wool to form roses. I layed white (even ecru) wool on cotton, then the flower pattern and finally wet felted - carefully but long - to make sure the result will be durable and strong for a long use as a pillow.
The back of the pillow is made of a double layer of cotton, with three beautiful, shiny and romantic buttons and little loops.
Each flower is different in color and shape.
I formed them by hand using merino wool and silk.
My next pillow with a tridimentional flower.
The 3D flower is wet felted of merino wool. As you can see on these photos, it has three layers, all made and shaped separately and then sewn together on the machine.
I attached the flower to the cotton pillow in the center with a black handfelted wool ball and a ribbon.
You can take it apart easily.
I used vivid cherry-red merino wool and some silk that makes the flower shine just a bit.
This romantic pillow was wet felted on cotton.
I used my handmade prefelt in pink and green for the pattern of flowers and leaves. I've decided for some machine stiches to make the leaves more interesting and visible. Each flower and each leave are a bit different.
The back of the pillow is made of the same raw cotton.
I used loops and shiny buttons to close it beautifully.
I thought that there is something very romantic to this look.
