Baubles wool painted - more poppies, more Christmas decorations, wet felted, handmade

If you're thinking right now, I'm obsessed with poppies, you might be just right.

And if red and fragile poppie flowers don't work with Christmas decorations for you, then maybe you need to look for another felter. Because that's what I like to felt for Christmas this year.

I've tried this combination of poppies and baubles before, but this time I'm really in love with the result.
And believe me, it doesn't happen that often.

The process of wet felting is the same as with all the baubles I've made so far. Following my inspiration, I have to be really carefull not to ruin the motiv of flowers in the long process of rolling and rolling and rolling...

To be honest, I prefer my baubles before I add all the tiny beads - just the way they are right after I finish felting and drying. However, the baubles are meant for the Christmas tree with all the lights gleeming.
So I add the beads (which involves in hand sewing) for that light catching effect.
In other words, the baubles with little shiny elements, such as beads and chiffon ribbons, stand out better and make a great impression on everybody looking at the Christmas tree.

And below are some pictures of a small poppie bauble I've already presented on my blog.

Small - means 6 cm - compare to the bigger baubles - 13 cm - more than twice as big.
